CCC 2017 October 21 - 24, 2017 - Vancouver, BC
CCC 2017 will be our most exciting
Congress yet, putting science in action, with
greater opportunities to network, learn and collaborate.
Best of CCC
This year’s CCC is specially designed by the Scientific Programme Committee to build on the success of last year’s Congress in Montreal! By bringing together the sharpest, most innovative and creative minds in cardiology from across Canada and internationally, we have selected key lectures that everyone’s going to be talking about. Here’s what to look for:
Keynote Speakers at CCC 2017
Each day CCC presents exciting plenary sessions, open to all delegates and targets all members of the “heart team.” Presentations from the experts bring you the most up-to-date and hottest topics in cardiology. Check out some of the legacy plenary sessions that you all know and love including the CJC Symposium and the ever-so-entertaining Great Debate, this year being presented as Family Feud. CCC is also excited to renew the pilot plenary session: Feel Better, Work Better: EQ in Cardiac Sciences.
You are invited to extend your educational experience by attending Accredited Symposia which are an essential part of the official educational programme of CCC 2017. Accredited symposia showcase Canada’s best research and promote learning through late-breaking and featured clinical trials and lively debates.
Find your colleague: Breaks, Lunches, and Receptions
Daily health breaks, lunches and receptions provide a great opportunity for ePoster viewing and catch up with colleagues. Enjoy some refreshment in the morning and wine and cheese as you mingle at the end of each day. “The Commons” space is also available for you and your colleagues to relax in comfortable seats while you chat. Make plans to visit the Community Forum at CCC!
Come Celebrate Your Achievements With the Canadian Cardiovascular Community!
CCS Recognition Awards
Sunday, October 22 – 18:30
Join us for cocktails and an evening of celebrating the outstanding contributions of your peers to the field of cardiovascular health and care. The CCS Recognition Awards is an ideal way for the community to appreciate career achievements and set the bar for our young colleagues.
This year the focus is YOU! We want you to be a part of the discussion and enhance your learning experience. Workshops, Core Curriculum, Spotlights and CCS Guidelines presented at CCC will have an interactive component designed to get you thinking. With a mobile Q&A option, you don’t have to worry about speaking up, just tap your questions and interact directly with session speakers.
Can’t choose between workshops? This year we’re offering four popular Core Curriculum workshop sessions back-to-back. Look out for workshops that will be presenting three times on Sunday and Monday morning, giving you the chance to be a part of a workshop you may have missed. Let us know what you thought about this session by filling out the session survey using the CCC App.
Did you know Spotlight sessions showcase sub-speciality areas of cardiology? CCS Affiliates have designed their sub-specialty session to present hot topics in specific areas of cardiology. These sessions, on Sunday and Monday afternoon might be just what you’re looking for. Don’t forget to check out the list of Spotlight sessions in the CCC App (available in September) to see if there is a session right for you!
Guideline sessions are one of the most anticipated and highly attended sessions at CCC each year. Be sure to attend as we will be unveiling new guidelines and recommendations.
Abstract (Moderated Presentation and ePoster) Sessions
Each year, the scientific programming committee combs through hundreds of abstract submissions to bring you the best science. They are published in the Canadian Journal of Cardiology Supplement issue in October and all have an opportunity to showcase their research either by a Moderated Presentation or ePoster presentation. All accepted abstracts are organized by Learning Tracks which make it easier for you to find specific session. Don’t forget to download the CCC 2017 App in September to find the sessions you want to attend in advance!
This year, like last year, CCC will use ePosters to display poster abstracts. Using the latest technology, ePosters will allow delegates to read posters using a touch-friendly digital screen interface.
Featured Research Session
Only have time for one abstract session? Don’t miss the Featured Research session. The top three selected abstracts will present their science alongside leading Canadian clinical trialists. You won’t want to miss out on the discussion regarding “What’s the Next Big Thing?”
